01:18 (EST)I'm not really a fan of 5 Vegas and this certainly isn't one of their best cigars out there. It looks nice, sleek and elegant looking. It is constructed well, burns evenly and consistently. It's a medium-bodied cigar with a strong dark chocolate flavor with some leathery notes. They're alright given the cheap price but it's an acquired taste.

10:00 (EST)The Archtype is not a bad smoke at all. The solid construction allowed the ash to hang to the foot of the stick for a couple of inches. The profile was rather adequate for a cigar, but for a 5 Vegas, it definitely lacked a bit of body to affect smokers with a discerning taste. Purchase the Alpha or the Anomaly for a much more flavorful smoking experience. Regardless, there isn't much to nitpick about the Archtype.

08:13 (EST)Maduro smokes are a dime a dozen, but the Archtype is a cut above the rest. No, the sweet and full-bodied taste of the stick is not out of the ordinary and the elegant appearance of its dark wrapper is staple Maduro all the way. I'm talking about the affordable price tag that elevates the stogie into a level of its own. Sure, the profile could have used finer flavors, but such a price makes the Archtype more accessible to those interested with the particular cigar without having to shell out exorbitant cash. If you have the chance, buy this pup now.

09:58 (EST)Good at any price – but absolutely great at $3. A fine draw, even burn, clouds of smoke, all perfectly sized (torpedo) for a slow leisurely smoke. I did expect a bolder maduro flavor (more like its line mates Anomaly and Alpha), but that could improve with aging. These days value counts, and this is a winner.

12:01 (EST)The Archetype wins in the aesthetic department, where the elegant wrapper is a feast for the eyes and is firmly holding the filler and binder real nice. The price is a catch for a Maduros and the smoke captures the sweetness of the said cigar types, albeit only hints of it. However, the pepper flavor gives more breadth and body to the smoke compared to others Maduros. Overall, the Archetype isn't your typical Maduros cigar, but it's still worth the experience.
