The Avo Signature line is pretty consistent with keeping its trademark barn flavor in most of its smokes, and the Belicoso is no different from its counterparts. There's nothing smooth at the on-set of smoking the cigar due to its harsh flavor, but soon mellowed out to the tones of brown sugar and wood. The taste reverted back to its harsh and spicy taste, making a statement for being a full-bodied stick. There are no qualms about the appearance and construction of the cigar, while the burn is even to its brim. Hence, for those with a penchant for a smoke that is in-your-face, the Belicoso might be for you.

From appearance, to construction, to aroma, burn -- and most important, the complex flavor -- the Avo Signature Belicoso is a one fine smoke. The flavor starts out light and fresh, evolving into a nutty, slightly licorice taste that is quite satisfying. You’ll be tempted to smoke them all, but stop yourself because this beauty should be even better in 5 years.

How about a cigar that thinks like it’s a bottle of wine? Full-bodied and great-smelling, this one really showed lots of promise. I gave it a taste, and flavors of cedar and pepper immediately floored my senses. After that, it gradually shifted toward creamy vanilla, and settled on an exquisite richness I totally indulged in. To cap off the whole experience, subtle hints of leather and wood made themselves known. With the super-silky, smooth and oily wrapper, I was definitely hooked. Just like I would with a bottle of fine wine.
