Criollo, which originally means native seeds in Cuba, is a type of hybrid seeds grown in Cuba and used by people looking for a tobacco strand that can withstand molds and other agricultural problems. The type of seeds was bought by CAO, one of the most well-reputed cigar brands in the world, and it was immediately slated as a cigar that could give the best Cuban cigars a run for their money. Well, the Criollo definitely turned to be a worth addition in the CAO line, with excellent medium-full bodied cigar grown in Nicaragua with filler tobaccos from the same place.
The Conquistador is the largest type of CAO Criollo (6 1/8 x 52) that posses a rather unique and particular taste. The dark taste and sweet finish of the cigar enables to give out interesting notes for the smoker. There are quite a few problems with the draw, that that could be explained with the fact that the construction is rather oily. Although the cigar is decent enough to smoke after purchase, people will definitely enjoy the Pato more after a prolonged stay in the humidor. Overall, it's a quality cigar worth your time.
