The Casa Magna Colorado Belicoso makes a great first impression. The colorado wrapper on this stick is saturated with oil and glistens, enhancing the rich ruddy color of the cigar. It is is simply gorgeous. Casa Magna is a joint endeavor between Manuel Quesada, maker of Fonseca and the founder of MATASA, and Nestor Plasencia, possibly Central America’s largest cigar tobacco producer.

This top notch Nicaraguans opens up with a peppery blast that eventually fades but doesn't completely disappear. The excellent Nicaraguan Colorado wrapper has a sweet and hickory-like aroma.

This complex, medium bodied cigar then serves up a range of different flavors, ranging from leather, some woody spice, and a touch of caramel. Coffee is the primary flavor in the last third with a slight rise in the  caramel accents before diving back to earth with a peppery flourish. The finish grows substantially and leaves an aftertaste of earth, char, and pepper.

The sweet hickory-caramel aroma would appear from time to time adding yet another layer to this impressively complex cigar. The slow burn went a little off kilter from time to time, but never needed correction. The only disappointment is the somewhat tight draw. But factor in its price, its superb appearance and complexity; Casa Magna Colorado Belicoso is a cigar that you will truly enjoy.

The Casa Magna was not worth the time. If you are going to smoke, smoke something with flavor.

This is truley a good smoke. Not a great one but you definetly get your money's worth. Had a few burn problems but it was windy outside so I can't be sure that it was the cigars fault. I'm looking forward to having more of these in the future.
