The Sublime is rolled to a tee using an oily wrapper that led to an ideally firm draw. The flavor is the earthiest among earthy cigars, with chocolate and cedar tones that are better than most. As with Cuban cigars, the real potential of this stub will reveal itself after keeping it inside a humidor for at least half a decade. However, for what it's worth, the smoke is definitely Sublime.

Every cigar smoker has to try a Cohiba sometime – they are a luxury that define the Cuban cigar experience. This dark-wrapped torpedo is pricey but worth it, when aged at least two years.  When you do finally smoke it, it’s a beautifully-balanced symphony of cocoa and spice flavors – but construction and burn issues strike a really sour note in a cigar of this price.  (This cigar was updated 5 years later, as the EL 2006.)

Stable, strong, and consistent.  Handsome, tight, and beautifully-made.  These are just a few words that come to mind after smoking this baby.  The burn was unlike any other, the draw was perfect, and the flavors alternated between coffee, wood, cedar, and nuts, with a smooth, easy flow.  I’ll have this one on my list for a long time.

The Piramides is one smooth and complex operator – strong but never overwhelming – as the cedar and cocoa flavors with fine hints of nuts pack a wallop. The harsh tones followed through the second half of the smoke, but again it never imposed itself. Despite the prominence of spices at the end, the smooth undertones of chocolate that were not present during the smoke gave the cigar a surprisingly pleasant finish. The burn was undeniably great and it also produced ash white that never offs itself from the cigar, even at two inches. Really now, this full-bodied gem is a must-have for cigar enthusiasts alike.
