The 1990s was a great decade for cigars—because the Diamond Crown was introduced to the market at this time. Of mild to medium temperament and sweet creaminess so subtle and refined, it is undoubtedly the finest cigar created by JC Newman. The 100-year-old JC Newman Cigar Company is a legend in itself, specially the company’s head honcho, Stanford Newman. This man is the ultimate perfectionist, from the way he has been running his family’s cigar-making tradition for over fifty years, to his brainchild of creating a cigar to commemorate the company’s centennial. He wanted only the best, and would not settle for anything less. To do this, he knew he had to get in touch with another great cigar man, Carlos Fuente of Fuente Cigars. Together, they came up with a plan and process for the dream cigar, using only the highest-grade tobacco and the best rollers at the Fuente Factory. Finally, Stanford Newman’s vision became real—with the launch of the Diamond Crown. With a seamless Connecticut wrapper and a smooth Dominican filler, the Diamond Crown easily won the approval of the cigar world. |
