The “King of the World” is a legendary name that dates back to 1848.  Its aroma, dark oily wrappers and earthy flavor helped build the cult of Habanos. Today, the brand name applies to two distinct lines of fine cigars, one produced by Habana S.A. and another by General Cigar Co. in Cofradia, Honduras.

The Honduran line is a top-seller in the US, with over 40 varieties and sizes.  Depending on variety, they use Honduran binder, Dominican or Honduran filler; wrappers are either Connecticut shade or Sumatran-seed Ecuadorian.

The line spans various price ranges, from reasonably priced lines to the premium OLVIDADOS, with some rated as high as 91 by Cigar Aficionado.  Overall, these are well-constructed, very good value cigars for full-body smokers, with spicy, tangy notes, strong flavors and billowing smoke.
