02:18 (EST)The so called full-bodied label and bold presentation make you expect a stronger flavor than the mild/medium that you get. A big handsome stick with a lot of smoke, but flavor strength doesn't quite measure up.

03:34 (EST)During the first few puffs with this cigar I didn't like the way it tasted. It had a mixture of flavors that I just couldn't understand, but then it grew on me. I began to taste the mellow spicy and nutty flavor and sweet aroma. I had to light it again but overall it burned good and it has an even draw and a rich creamy smoke.

03:29 (EST)One would not have thought that the Double Corona, for all its handsome appearance and sleek wrapper, is actually an inconsistent ditty. The strange pre-light aroma was met with earth and charcoal flavors. Definitely nothing wrong with the profile, but the smoke turns in a couple of times, giving out a funky and uncomfortable feeling in your mouth. There were also some burn issues throughout the session that interrupted the smoking process. Adding to that the exorbitant price of each stick, the Double Corona won't find its way to smokers' collection anytime soon.

01:28 (EST)I enjoyed smoking these full bodied cigars. I like the medium flavor that has a hint of cedar and a little spicy finish. Although this isn't my best smoke to date. I've certainly had better. But for a medium smoke, they are not so bad. I can't say they pass for a regular smoke, maybe for certain occasions like poker night. I don't know yet how well this cigar ages so I'm keeping some in my humi for a few months and see how that turns out. Nice looking and well constructed but a few burn problems. Not a big deal though.

08:34 (EST)There are times when a cigar simply clicks because of the complexity of the flavors or the sheer appearance of the stick. However, the Double Corona of the Gurkha Ancient Warrior line is sitting on the fence, undecided whether it clicks and should exhibit its mild-bodied smoke with smooth nutty qualities or it unclick due to the lack of its complexity. The construction, pre-light aroma, and experience are there, but since the smoke is advertised as a full-bodied stogie, people will definitely expect more. Poor marketing or not, the Double Corona needs to remove its extra crown.
