03:11 (EST)Part of the stellar Padron Anniversary line, with gloriously oily maduro wrappers. Great cigars, box-pressed and nicotine-packed – but considering how good the Padron thousands are at much less, I'm not sure I'd make a habit of these.

01:53 (EST)The rules of everyday economics are pretty simple—the better the quality, the higher the price. Same goes with cigars, though this particular one slightly defies the idea. Fine, it’s got the Padron name, which should equate to excellent products, but somehow this one falls a bit short of expectations. Let’s start with the construction, which was great, as well as the smoke and burn, but the flavors seem like they were meant for cheaper cigars. I couldn’t get anything defined, much less exceptional, and for this I’d have to say this cigar would never win any fans in terms of personality. Might as well be Padron’s black sheep.

07:23 (EST)Although the Diplomatico is one of the priciest medium-bodied smokes in the market, it also happens to be one of the most satisfying. The wrapper provides the sweetness amidst the balanced nutty and coffee flavors that was prominent throughout the duration of the cigar. The burn and draw are adequate as they were able to provide a hefty amount of smoke and nice ash. Despite the steep price, the Diplomatico is still worth every penny.
