The construction of the Double Corona is pretty solid although the Colorado wrapper was far from perfect with veins all over. The adequate packaging of the smoke with the wrapper put up a fairly effective draw and burn, producing a dense and tight grey ash. As for the flavors, the woody profile serves as the backbone of the smoke, with a catharsis of flavors such as the mild chocolate, plum, citrus, and other. The 2-hour smoke was pretty smooth and complex at the same time, making the cigar pretty hard to match. In other words, the double corona is twice the fun and pleasure.

Trends are for sheep. I know a good stick when I find it, and this is one. Sure it's hard to find (the real ones, plenty of fakes) and takes nearly two hours to smoke, but this medium-bodied big stick more than rewards the effort. Old-school rocks.

I’d call this the performance-level cigar—and rightly so. First impression left me with good reviews, from the construction to the burn, but I wasn’t that prepared for the kind of show it was set to give with its flavors. An eclectic combination of wood, cream, lemon, spice, chocolate, and plum made a grand entrance, and continued consistently throughout the whole smoke. Lots of character, for sure, and unbelievably excellent considering its repertoire. Bravo.
