Review
Made from Nicaraguan/Dominican filler tobaccos and a Nicaraguan binder, the Rocky Patel 1961 Corona uses a reddish, oily habano-seed wrapper from Honduras. What is noticeable is the prominent pre-light aroma of cocoa, earth, and a bit of spice.
Lighting the cigar, what immediately comes forward is a nice woody core with notes of dark chocolate and a nutty creaminess. The second and final third of the 1961 Corona is a nice woody combination of salty meaty flavors and a touch of sweetness. There was also a faint nuttiness like almond.
The burn was solid all the way through with an even, thin burn that required no touchups or re-lights. The dark chocolate flavors combined with the woody core of the cigar makes for a good combination. Overall the Rocky Patel 1961 Corona is a good, if somewhat simple, smoke cigars lover might wish to try.

11:30 (EST)i tried this bone and it smoked uneven...could be due to the humidity here. that and the fact i have been smoking some very high quality bones lately left me a bit unimpressed. for a non-seasoned bone smoker..you may like it..for those who know about cigars...there are many more better, at a better price.

03:37 (EST)Not a very impressive cigar from Rocky. The 1961 is just an average cigar with not much flavor. Try again Rocky Patel.

10:57 (EST)Just another average cigar from Rocky Patel. If I smoke a Rocky, it is usual The Edge.
