Stories of love, whether romantic or tragic, are the kind most people are drawn to—because of the overwhelming passion, desire, and emotion that they impart to its audiences.  William Shakespeare knew that fact, which led him to the creation of the ultimate tale of star-crossed lovers—Romeo and Juliet.  Always regarded as a symbol of undying love and commitment, people the world over have sought the same qualities that made the duo’s story famous.                                                                                                          

This is perhaps the search for passion that led Inocencio Alvarez and Mannin Garcia to develop 1875’s greatest love story—the Romeo Y Julieta Cuba.  Havana, Cuba was never the same again, after the introduction of a brand that completely appealed to their desires—a fact proven by the brand’s triumphant collection of gold medals in several universal expositions.  Then, in keeping with the expected, competition for the love of the renowned brand was won by a rival:  Jose Rodriguez Fernandez, known as Pepin.  He upheld the brand’s greatness to impossible heights, making it almost as legendary as the story it takes after.                                                                                                                                                                            

Romeo Y Julieta Cuba is a brand whose tradition has been credited with the arrival of the Churchill shape—to honor the great British statesman Winston Churchill.  To this day, the full, complex, and rich-flavored brand remains one of the world’s legends.
