Review

It’s that time of the year boys and girls. The mad genius know as Tattoo Pete Johnson has released his monster once more. This year it is called The Wolfman. This monster of a cigar is 7 ½” long with a ring gage of 52 shaggy foot box pressed torpedo. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Sumatran. The color is a medium to dark brown with small spots of light brown. When you look at it, it just howls Wolfman. In total 21,658 will be released. Of the total cigars 666 “dressed boxes” will come out with 13 sticks per box. So if you are wondering YES get out and hunt the Wolfman down! One thing that had me wondering was the smell of ammonia like some younger tobacco gets from not being added as long as it should.

Once lit it has a wonderful full body pepper taste that fades to a strong woody taste. The wood stays with the cigar almost till the end. After the first third is burned I get hints cinnamon and molasses notes. Much more sweetness comes out and the full body fades to a medium full smoke profile. The play on pallet that this smoke does is amazing. The smell of ammonia that I had before did not have any effect on the cigar thankfully. No bitter taste at all. The Wolfman ends with the wood and pepper and nice undertones of sweetness.

Total smoke time on this guy was just under 2 hours. And it will be a 2 hours I will repeat very soon. Each stick will set you back $13. Some places I have seen charge more, but most will be at the $13 mark. And if you by any chance find a retailer willing to sell a full box jump on it. Most will not because of the high volume of buyer out there. So all in all good smoke and worth having a few around. I give it a 7 1/2 cigars out of 10 on the Bobby Rica smoke scale.
